We have formed a partnership with Microscope Central in the USA to supply a bespoke microscopy package for Live & Dry Blood analysis based around the Optika B-510DK darkfield microscope (price below).

Unlike many other L.E.D. microscopes on the market, the Optika illuminates the darkfield condenser directly giving a clear and well-defined image of the sample. The low wattage of this model should not be confused with the low power offered by budget microscopes.

The following imaging package represents the system that we use on our courses and in our own practice. It gives a high-definition clear image, offers useful features such as digital zoom, and allows video and image capture.

Optika Photo Tube, AmScope Canon/Nikon DSLR Adaptor + T2 ring

• The photo tube and adaptor connects a DSLR camera body to the trinocular head of the microscope.

• The T2 ring holds the adaptor in place and is attached to the lens mount on the front of the camera. It is vital that you purchase the correct T2 ring for the model of camera that you are using.

• This is the latest minimum-specification Canon DSLR that offers HD imagery and ‘Live View’ mode for viewing live blood samples on screen (it connects to your laptop via an HDMI cable).

• Canon EOS software is the imaging package that we use in our training and comes free with all Canon cameras.
  
  Please Note: It is not essential that you purchase the latest model. There are earlier models such as the Canon Rebel T5 which are perfectly suitable and can be purchased second-hand or refurbished for a much cheaper price. Make sure the model offers HD ‘live view’ video recording.
